Ashley River Soccer Club is a non-profit, youth soccer organization based in West Ashley, SC whose mission is to provide a safe, supportive, and fun environment for young athletes in our community

 

ARSC is a member of South Carolina Youth Soccer (SCYS) and participates in the Coastal Premier League (CPL). ​

Junior Academy

(U8-U12)

The ARSC Junior Academy Program is designed to develop competitive players in a fun, supportive, and development-focused environment. Training curriculum is designed by our Technical Director with help from our Director of Coaching and implemented by the DOC and U8 Program Director.  All coaches are USSF trained and certified. 

U8 Junior Academy

U8 players will practice in West Ashley and play games against teams from other local clubs as part of the South Carolina Youth Soccer (SCYS) Coastal Premier League (CPL).  This is a year-log program an includes both a Fall and Spring season. Play is 7v7 and 5v5 format (for boys) and 5v5 for girls.  Note: there may be some travel to neighboring cities (Myrtle Beach, Bluffton, etc) for the 7v7 boys CPL team. This program is for players aged 6-8 years old. 

U9-U12 Junior Academy

The Junior Academy Program is designed for players in the U9 through U12 age groups who are ready for a more competitive club soccer environment while maintaining a strong emphasis on development.

Teams will practice in West Ashley and participate in the Coastal Premier League for games during both the Fall and Spring seasons. Some travel may be involved - while the CPL is mostly Charleston and Summerville based clubs, it also includes teams from Florence, Myrtle Beach, Bluffton, and Savannah.  Game format is 7v7 (U9 & U10 Boys, Girls) and 9v9 (U11 & U12 Boys, Girls). 

Junior Academy Program Details:

The Junior Academy Program is year-long and includes both Fall Season (August - Nov/Dec) and Spring Season (end January/early Feb - April).  The exact schedule depends on league scheduling + tournaments each team participates in.

  • ~15 weeks of practice (Fall) + ~13 weeks of practice (Spring). 

  • 7+ Coastal Premier League games PER SEASON

    • 5v5 (U8 Girls + U8 Boys)​

    • 7v7 (U8 Boys, U9 & U10 Boys & Girls)

    • 9v9 (U11 & U12 Boys & Girls)

  • twice weekly training sessions, 1 hour (U8 + U9) or 1.25 hours (U10-U12)

  • 1-2 tournaments each season (each tournament includes 3-4 games)

COSTS & FEES EXPLAINED

Our goal is and forever will be to keep soccer affordable for families in Charleston. Our fees are amongst the lowest in the area.

ARSC: community supported soccer

Fees:

Club Fees

  • U8 Junior Academy: $550/year

  • U9-U12 Junior Academy: $700/year

  • Fees are payable in full, or in monthly installments

Club Fee covers:

  • Coaches stipends

  • SCYS player registration

  • SCYS team league registration

  • Technical Director + Director of Coaching stipend

  • field rental/lease

  • field maintenance & repair

  • equipment (balls, pinnies, cones, etc)

  • insurance

  • administrative costs

Team Fees

Each season team fees will be collected from every player twice - once for fall session, once for spring - to cover team-specific costs.  These costs will be tallied up and divided amongst team members. 

 

Each season the ARSC team parent liaison will guide teams in running team-specific and individual player fundraisers to help cover or offset team fee costs.

Team fees cover:

  • referee costs (U9-U10 = $20/game | U11-U12 = $40/game) per season

  • tournament entry fees (2 x $700/$800-ish) per season

  • tournament travel expenses for one non-parent coach

  • past team fees range from $80-$200/player (most were ~$120). 

    • MANY players were able to fundraise enough to cover their entire fees, some teams also found sponsors/donors to cover the cost of one tournament entry (which significantly lowered team fees). 

Uniforms

Uniforms are purchased on a two year cycle.  Our current uniforms started Fall 2025 and will be used through the end of Spring 2027. 

 

Uniforms are purchased through Lloyds-Soccer Village in Mt Pleasant - the club will help coordinate uniform purchasing after all players are registered.   The full uniform (two jerseys, shorts, two colors of socks) will run ~$100.
